Premium stories with global potential

We are looking for ambitious scripted projects with a strong creative voice, compelling storytelling and the potential to travel internationally.

Whether premium drama, genre-led storytelling or distinctive new IP, projects should have a clear proposition and demonstrate why they can resonate beyond their home market.

Projects should:

• • Be submitted by an established production company or producer.

• • Be at a stage where they are actively seeking commissioning, financing, co-production or distribution partners.

• • Have a strong and distinctive creative proposition, with a clear sense of audience and international potential.

• • Demonstrate a clear route to production, including at least one element of confirmed external funding or financial commitment.

• • Entrants may submit up to 2 projects.

• • Be largely unseen in the international market and not have been previously selected for another market within six months of Content London.

• • Be presented in a format suitable for a broadcaster, platform or production partner, with a pitch deck encouraged.

• • Be available for a live pitch in person at Content London.

UNSCRIPTED

The next big format, factual or entertainment hit

From big, bold entertainment and returnable formats to innovative reality, social experiments and studio-based gameshows, we are looking for original unscripted concepts with the creative strength, audience appeal and international potential to stand out in an increasingly competitive global market.

The strongest proposals will combine a compelling idea with a clear understanding of audience, execution and international potential.

The Unscripted Pitch is open to projects across three categories:

PRIMETIME ENTERTAINMENT

• • Be large-scale entertainment with broad, family appeal

• • Be big and bold with a unique hook

• • No subjects are off-limits, but familiar areas – such as talent shows – should take a truly unique approach. Projects can be studio or location-based.

REALITY & SOCIAL EXPERIMENT

• • Be bold and attention-grabbing appeal to 16-34s without alienating older viewers

• • Have real people and authenticity at its heart

• • Encourage binge-watching behaviour

• • Address a universal theme and/or attempt to answer a real social question.

• • Have a clear answer to the question: ‘why?’

• • No subjects are off-limits, but familiar areas should take a truly unique approach.

• • Projects in this category should be conceived as multiplatform; digital innovation may be a key component.

STUDIO-BASED GAMESHOWS

• • Studio-based gameshows can cover everything from serious quizzes to physical games, from cooking to dating games.

• • Projects should innovate, but also demonstrate that consideration has been given to how the format can be produced in volume, in a closed studio environment.

• • There’s been an upsurge in reboots this year, can you pitch us the show that’s going to become the next multi-year returning game show?

Projects should:

• • • Be submitted by an established production company or producer.

  • • Have a clear and compelling unscripted proposition, with potential for international adaptation, co-production or distribution where relevant.

  • • Be at a stage where the project is seeking commissioning, financing, production or international partners.

  • • Demonstrate a clear target audience and understanding of the commercial opportunity.

  • • Include relevant development materials where available, such as a sizzle, teaser, format deck, treatment or visual references.

  • • Have a credible production proposition and demonstrate any confirmed broadcaster, platform, production where applicable.

  • • Entrants may submit up to 2 projects.

  • • Be largely unseen in the international market and not have been previously selected for another C21 market within six months of Content London.

  • • Be available for a live pitch in person at Content London.

• The Content London Pitch Competition is open for entries between August 19 and October 19, 23:59 GMT.

• From the pool of submissions made between August 19, 2026 and October 19, 2026, a select number of finalists will be chosen.

• • The finalists will then be invited to participate and to present a live pitch to delegates at Content London on December 1, 2026.

• • C21 will profile each of the finalists during the event, with interviews about the projects published online and in the Content London Daily.
•  
• • All finalists will be invited to a networking event during Content London to meet with interested partners.
•  
• • The winning project in each category will receive a £20,000 C21Media marketing package.

• C21Media reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to:
  
  • • • Determine the eligibility of entries and exclude any entry that does not meet the relevant category criteria or submission deadline.
  • • Select the competition finalists.
  • • Amend the competition timetable, eligibility criteria or judging arrangements where circumstances require.

• By entering the competition, each applicant confirms that:
  
  • • All information provided in their application is complete and accurate.
  • • They hold all rights and permissions necessary to submit the project and related materials.
• • The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

• Selected finalists must:
  
  • • Attend and pitch live in person at Content London on 1 December 2026.
  • • Hold a valid pass for Content London. Confirmed finalists may purchase a pass at the discounted VIP rate of £399.
  • • Provide all presentation, video and supporting materials requested by C21Media by the specified deadlines.
  • • Be available for reasonable promotional activity relating to the Pitch Competition and Content London.
  • • Permit C21Media to use submitted project information, images, videos and interview material for editorial and promotional purposes connected with the competition and Content London.

• Finalists will be promoted across C21Media’s editorial, digital and event channels and may be featured in Content London publications and promotional materials.
