C21 bolsters editorial ranks

C21Media has continued the expansion of its London-based editorial team with the hiring of two more journalists.

Shannon Power has joined C21 as senior reporter while Inigo Alexander has taken the role of reporter.

Melbourne-born Power worked for News Corp-owned Cairns Post and Star Observer in her homeland as well as editing nightly news and current affairs programme The Informer for radio station Joy 94.9. She was most recently health editor and Asia Pacific correspondent for Gay Star News.

Alexander, meanwhile, joins C21 from the international journalism course at City University in London. Born in Madrid, he previously studied at Leiden University in the Netherlands and had placements at The Observer, Daily Telegraph and Sky News.

“Shannon is a solid senior reporter and brings a great skillset to the C21 team while Inigo certainly has the tenacity and news sense required of a C21 reporter,” said C21’s editorial director Ed Waller. “These appointments reflect our ambition to grow our editorial output in breadth, depth and global outlook.”

The new arrivals follow the appointment of Karolina Kaminska as senior reporter in May.
