Brown sails Grand River

Executive producer of the BBC’s War of the Worlds remake is launching his own independent production company to develop content for the international TV and film markets.

Veteran producer Jamie Brown has launched Grand River Productions which will have its headquarters in London, with an additional office in Los Angeles.

The new prodco aims to work with established talent, finance projects and manage distribution of its titles.

Brown has more than 30 years of industry experience and has produced a number of high-budget TV series and feature films. He most recently served as executive producer on Mammoth Screen’s War of the Worlds for the BBC. He has also produced, or executive produced, feature films including Country of My Skull, Captive and To Walk with Lions.

The prodco currently has a slate of new high-end scripted projects in development.

Brown, CEO of Grand River Productions, said: “The proliferation of platforms airing high-end scripted television content has created a myriad of opportunities for creators and IP owners with great ideas. With both creative and broadcasting contacts and financing capabilities, Grand River Productions can facilitate the required development of projects in the UK, US and globally.

“We look forward to working with best-in-class creatives and producers to enable the advancement of their ideas. We will be announcing our first raft of projects imminently.”
