Nicole Starr is an accomplished entertainment executive and strategic impact leader, passionate about the power of storytelling to shape culture and unite communities. As co-founder of Fourth Act, she leads an innovative consultancy that bridges the entertainment industry with social movements, designing audience-driven campaigns and narrative strategies to extend impact beyond the screen.
Previously, as SVP of content representation and impact at Participant, Starr developed a strategic framework for embedding impact throughout the content development process. She worked closely with creative teams to ensure the company’s film and TV slate authentically reflected diverse perspectives while advancing key social issues. She also led narrative change strategies and impact campaigns for acclaimed projects such as Out of My Mind, Separated, Judas and the Black Messiah, American Utopia, An Inconvenient Sequel, RBG, and Academy Award winner Roma – driving real-world change, including policy shifts for domestic workers’ rights in the US and Mexico. Her work has earned industry recognition, including a Webby, and has been featured in The New York Times, CNN, Nightline, and Fast Company’s World Changing Ideas.
Prior to Participant, Nicole guided global partnerships at Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, shaping marketing campaigns for iconic properties like Avatar and Glee. Committed to systemic change, she also co-founded Storyline Partners, an organisation that works alongside creators to promote accurate, authentic, and equitable cultural narratives across media.
At Fourth Act, Starr continues to align creative vision with social impact, partnering with creators and organisations to elevate stories that spark conversation, shift perspectives, and accelerate change.
