Balloon Entertainment is an independent television production company founded in 2012 by writer and showrunner Elsley and comedian Harry Enfield. The company puts a focus on nurturing emerging talent in drama and comedy.
Productions to date are Channel 4 relationship drama Dates, Harry & Paul’s Story of the 2s for BBC 2’s 50th anniversary celebrations, An Evening With Harry and Paul celebrating Harry and Paul Whitehouse’s 25 years of working together.
2017 saw series 1 of Jess Brittain led thriller series Clique premier on BBC Three followed by series 2 in 2018. Kiss Me First broke boundaries mixing live action and animation for Channel 4 and Netflix. Eden, co-produced with Every Cloud Productions for Stan (Aus) and Spectrum (US ) was released in June 2021. Comedy Newark, Newark from writer and actor Nathan Foad aired on UKTV Gold in March 2022, along with The Love Box In Your Living Room written by Harry Enfield, commissioned for the BBC’s 100 anniversary celebrations.
Our upcoming productions for 2023 include the Candice Carty-Williams led BBC drama Champion.
