AMC Networks adds development cover

AMC Networks in the US has brought in a former NBC development executive producer as cover for its VP of development while she is on maternity leave.

Richard Drew will fill in as VP of non-fiction and alternative and alternative programming at AMC Networks in LA for the next six months, covering for Kelly Nash.

Drew will be working on unscripted development for US cablenets AMC and SundanceTV. This includes overseeing the second season of AMC’s History of Horror, talent and format development and taking pitches.

Since leaving NBC in 2016, Drew has held development and consultant roles at companies such as Scott Brothers Entertainment, World of Wonder, Ample and Go Button Media.

In related news, Susie Fitzgerald is stepping down as executive VP of scripted programming at AMC Networks, according to Deadline.

Having spent over a decade at the company, Fitzgerald said she was leaving to pursue new opportunities in the “ever-expanding television landscape.”
