The UK version, titled The A Word, will be made available to Amazon Prime subscribers in the US through a deal with the show’s distributor, Keshet International (KI).

The show was commissioned for a second season by BBC1 earlier this year.

Sundance TV airs the show in the US and remains onboard to air the forthcoming second season.

The series, which looks at the impact on a family when their youngest child is diagnosed with autism, is a coproduction between Fifty Fathoms Productions and Keshet UK. Keshet’s original series Yellow Peppers was created and written by Keren Margalit.

“The fact that Amazon has acquired SVoD rights to both seasons of the series is a testament to its quality, appeal and performance to date,” said Keren Shahar, chief operating officer at KI and president of distribution.

The deal was negotiated by KI and Chris Rice, partner at WME, which represents KI in the US.
