WildBrain strikes CG animation production partnership with EightyEight Pictures

WildBrain is home to franchises including Strawberry Shortcake

Canadian children’s content company WildBrain has struck a long-term partnership with India-based animation and VFX studio EightyEight Pictures to strengthen the production of premium CG animation across its content slate.

WildBrain and EightyEight Pictures will collaborate through shared workflows and integrated production pipelines, aiming to create a model capable of delivering premium CG animation on a greater scale and at the highest creative and quality standards.

Under the partnership, creative leadership and core production functions will remain with WildBrain and its House of Cool banner, with EightyEight Pictures providing additional CG execution capacity within a shared pipeline.

The partnership is part of WildBrain’s broader plan to evolve its production capabilities and build a more integrated, flexible model for premium and digital-first animated content. It also comes as the company prepares to move its Vancouver studio to a new 47,000-square-foot home in January.

WildBrain is the home of franchises including Strawberry Shortcake, Teletubbies, Yo Gabba Gabba! and Inspector Gadget. EightyEight Pictures has worked on projects including Trollhunters, Gremlins, Kung Fu Panda and Star Wars: Visions.
