A raft of new international buyers, including Crave in Canada, AB1 in France, Tivibu in Turkey, Disney in Bulgaria and the Balkans, RTP in Portugal and Sky Italia, have acquired detective drama Sherlock & Daughter.

The eight-part series, produced by Starlings’ UK affiliate Albion Television and StoryFirst in association with The CW, stars David Thewlis as Sherlock Holmes, Blu Hunt as Amelia Rojas and Dougray Scott as Professor Moriarty.

It follows Holmes as he investigates a murder alongside Amelia, a young woman who believes she is his daughter.

Other new buyers include Viasat Poland, RTS Switzerland, Magenta TV Germany, Streamz Belgium, Nova Greece, Canal+ Autriche, YES Israel and Ceska TV in the Czech Republic.

France’s Federation Studios is handling international distribution outside Germany, Austria and German-speaking Europe, where Palatin Media is the exclusive sales agent.

The show, which is set to land on HBO Max in the UK and Ireland on November 5, was previously sold to broadcasters including SBS in Australia and public broadcasters NRK, SVT, DR, YLE and RUV across the Nordic region, as well as HBO Max in the US.
