Apple TV renews Emmy-winning Slow Horses for eighth run as S6 debuts

US-based streamer Apple TV has renewed spy drama Slow Horses for its eighth season, ahead of the season six premiere this Wednesday and the commissioning of S7 last year.

The news comes after the show picked up an Emmy last night for Outstanding Directing in a Drama Series, adding to its total tally of three.

Gary Oldman and Kristin Scott Thomas are set to return to screens as MI5 agents Jackson Lamb and Diana Taverner in their “most explosive confrontation yet,” according to Apple TV.

S8 will be an adaptation of Clown Town, author Mick Herron’s ninth book in the Slough House series.

“Slow Horses continues to charm audiences all around the world and I’m delighted that Jackson Lamb and his gang of lovable misfits will be back for an eighth season. Their acerbic take on the high-octane world of espionage is completely unique,” said Jay Hunt, the creative director of international at Apple TV.
