Mo Gilligan tucks into Big Chicken after Netflix orders Mindhouse fast food doc

Netflix has commissioned a UK original documentary spotlighting the fast food industry, fronted by comedian and TV presenter Mo Gilligan and produced by Louis Theroux’s prodco Mindhouse.

Mo Gilligan

Big Chicken: A Fast Food Conspiracy is produced by Mindhouse (Louis Theroux: Inside the Manosphere) and follows Gilligan in his first documentary for Netflix as he investigates the global fried chicken obsession, and the hidden costs behind our cravings.

A self-proclaimed lover of the food, Gilligan puts his body to the test in a bold experiment by eating fried chicken three times a day for 28 days straight.

Over the course of the month, he embarks on a journey from South London to the US to reveal the historical origins of fried chicken and the social, economic and industrial forces driving our mass consumption of it.

The documentary is directed by Liana Stewart while Aloke Devichand and Nancy Strang serve as exec producers.

The 1×96’ film will be available on Netflix from August 5.
