Welsh political drama bound for MHz

Living a Lie (Byw Celwydd) will air in Welsh with English subtitles

US public broadcaster MHz Networks has picked up a political drama that aired on Welsh pubcaster S4C.

The first two seasons of Living a Lie (Byw Celwydd) have been picked up in a deal with UK-based distributor Videoplugger and will air in Welsh with English subtitles. A third season is set to be broadcast on S4C in September.

The plot follows fictional characters in a coalition government and hails from producer Tarian Cyf and its director Branwen Cennard.

MHz broadcasts throughout the US and Canada and specialises in international series and films.

It is the second international deal for a Welsh-language series from S4C this week, following All3Media International’s sales of crime drama Hidden.
