Weinstein signs with Jay-Z

Jay-Z is behind US prodco Roc Nation

US studio The Weinstein Company has inked a two-year agreement with rapper Shawn ‘Jay-Z’ Carter to produce TV and film projects.

Scripted and unscripted TV dramas are already in the works, according to the artist, who runs multimedia company Roc Nation.

“I’m already passionate about what we currently have in the pipeline and I’m looking forward to discovering others,” said Jay-Z.

The rapper has recently been involved in films including the 2014 Annie remake, Chris Rock’s Top Five and Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby.
