Twofour taps Brown for Natural launch

MIPDOC: ITV-owned UK prodco Twofour has opened a new factual entertainment company and hired a former NBCUniversal (NBCU) executive to run it.

Alan Brown is joining Twofour Group as creative director to lead the new Natural outfit which aims to deliver popular factual and factual entertainment titles.

Brown is currently creative director at NBCU-owned Chocolate Media where he has worked on series including Channel 4’s Great British Buildings: Restoration of the Year.

He has previously worked on formats including The Apprentice, The Restaurant and Honey We’re Killing the Kids.

He will now make use of Twofour’s bases in London, Cardiff and Plymouth to put together a slate.

Brown said: “These are great days to be making factual content, the number of opportunities across the spectrum is absolutely enormous, and there is such a desire for new shows and innovation.

“This move fulfils an ambition to work with a creative group of people I know and love. What they have achieved is pretty incredible, so it was just too good an opportunity miss.”

Twofour Group chief creative officer Andrew Mackenzie, added: “Alan’s irrepressible energy and award winning producing skills make him a perfect fit for our merry band. We’re delighted to be supporting him in Natural.”
