Olav T Sandnes will take up the post on January 5 2015 and his successor as CEO of Egmont Publishing Norway will be announced by the end of this year.

Sandnes has been at Egmont Publishing Norway since 2009 and became CEO in 2011. He will succeed Hildrum, who reaches retirement in April next year.

It marks another senior management change at the commercial broadcaster following the appointment of SBS Discovery exec Nina Lorgen Flemmen to replace head of acquisitions John Ranelagh, who retires at the end of this year.

Sandnes will now become part of Egmont’s group management, which took full control of TV2 in 2012.

“Olav T Sandnes is very qualified to strengthen TV2 even further. He is an experienced and dynamic media leader with great results behind him,” said Hans J Carstensen, chairman of the TV2 board

“Furthermore, he has a great understanding of TV and digital development and as a board member of TV2 he already knows the media group well.”
