TLC in the UK has greenlit a second season of its local version of US format Say Yes to the Dress from Half Yard Productions.

The female-skewing lifestyle channel has ordered a further 40×30’ run of the series, which is set in the Lakeside Shopping Centre in Essex and follows brides-to-be on their hunt for the perfect dress.

The show, fronted by royal dress designer David Emanuel, premiered on the Discovery Networks International-owned channel earlier this year as one of its first original UK series since its launch three years ago.

It’s based on the American show of the same name, which has run on TLC in the US since 2007.

The UK version was ordered by Clare Laycock, VP and head of channels for TLC and Investigation Discovery in the UK, and commissioned by Mark Procter, acting head of factual entertainment for Discovery Networks International.

Charlotte Reid executive produces for the broadcaster and Sean Gallagher, Abby Greensfelder and Nicole Sorrenti do likewise for the prodco.

Laycock said: “Re-commissioning Say Yes to the Dress UK is an easy decision; the reaction we have had to the show since it launched has been incredible. Our viewers have embraced the UK series and we’re looking forward to airing new episodes as part of our dedicated wedding content on Friday Brideday.”
