TLC gets Pregnant at 50

TLC in the UK has commissioned a one-off documentary following a 50-year-old actress through her pregnancy and childbirth.

Tina Malone: Pregnant at 50 (1×60’), produced by the southern arm of UK indie Talent Television, investigates the physical, emotional and social issues women face going through the IVF process later in life.

It focuses on Malone, best known for her roles in Channel 4 series Shameless and soap Brookside, who gave birth to a daughter earlier this week.

The programme, commissioned by Sarah Thornton, VP of lifestyle production and development at TLC, will premiere on the UK version of the Discovery-owned US cablenet in February. TLC launched in the UK in April this year.
