Ten brings back Bachelorette

The Bachelorette Australia

The Bachelorette Australia

Australia’s Network Ten today confirmed another season of The Bachelorette Australia for 2017, after the finale of the second series won its timeslot last night.

Produced by Warner Bros International Television Production Australia, the show drew 1.33 million viewers nationally, although that was down from the 1.5 million who watched last year’s finale.

Network Ten chief content officer Beverley McGarvey said: “In just two years, The Bachelorette Australia has become a firm favourite among many viewers and a key part of Ten’s content line-up.

“The recipe of love, drama, excitement, romance and amazing dates has struck a chord with many people and made The Bachelorette Australia one of the most talked-about shows on television and a hit across multiple screens.”

Through the 2016 season, The Bachelorette Australia ranked at number one in its timeslot among under-55s and second in 25-54s and total people. The average national audience was 942,000 but on the catch-up service Tenplay the series has generated 11.03 million video segment views so far – up 13% on the 2015 season.

Casting for season three will begin in early 2017. The show is based on US format The Bachelorette, a spin-off from ABC hit The Bachelor, created by Mike Fleiss and distributed by Warner Bros.
