Tandem preps third Follett adaptation

MIPCOM: StudioCanal-owned Tandem Productions is to adapt Code to Zero, the international bestseller by Ken Follett.

The spy novel has been optioned by Tandem which plans to produce it as a limited TV series, CEO Rola Bauer announced at Mipcom this morning.

StudioCanal will hold worldwide distribution rights to the show, which is being described as a contemporary adaptation.

The story begins with a man who wakes up on the ground in a railway station with no memory of how he got there or who he is. His quest to rediscover his life is set against a battle for global supremacy between the US and China.

It is the third collaboaration between Tandem and Follett following The Pillars of The Earth and World Without End.

Bauer said: “We have enjoyed a wonderful collaboration with Ken Follett over the years and are thrilled to be working with him again. Code to Zero lends itself beautifully to a present-day thriller that today’s audiences will find thoroughly relevant.”
