Tandem exec moves to Bavaria

German prodco Bavaria Fernsehproduktion has hired an executive from Tandem Productions to further its ambitions in international TV production.

The company, a subsidiary of film studio Bavaria Film, is bringing in Moritz Polter as executive producer of international television series.

Reporting to Bavaria Fernsehproduktion MD Jan Kaiser, Polter will be charged with expanding into new areas of international development and production.

His responsibilities include securing and developing new projects, positioning them at networks and securing finance. He will also set up and work on international coproductions.

Polter was most recently VP of production at Tandem and has previously worked on Canal+’s critically acclaimed Spotless, which has just completed a run on US cablenet Esquire.

Kaiser said: “International productions, especially in the series area, are a growth market. I am therefore very happy that we were able to sign Moritz Polter as executive producer.

“He has broad experience, a wide range of contacts and has produced exciting shows. With him onboard, we will develop and grow this new business venture for years to come.”
