Squeeze, WowWee fire up Fingerlings

Fingerlings

Québec City-based producer Squeeze is making an animated series inspired by the popular Fingerlings characters from toy manufacturer WowWee.

The show will consist of shortform episodes written and directed by Kevin Munroe, known for his work on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Ratchet & Clank and My Little Pony movies. He also recently co-wrote and directed a feature film with animation and character modelling from Squeeze.

The first season of Fingerlings will be produced by Squeeze, WowWee and Munroe, with executive producers Russell Binder and Marc Mostman of Striker Entertainment, the global licensing agent for Fingerlings brand extension.

Last week, Fingerlings won the Toy of the Year and Collectible of the Year awards at the 18th annual New York Toy Fair. The series has been slated to launch this spring and the announcement was made by Denis Doré, president and co-founder of Squeeze, and Richard Yanofsky, president and co-founder of WowWee.
