Sky deals with Disney again

Sky in the UK and Ireland has extended its movie and TV agreement with Disney that will provide subscribers with on-demand access to shows including Inside Out and Doc McStuffins.

Sky Movies subscribers and customers of its on-demand service Now TV will be able to watch features including The Good Dinosaur and Star Wars: The Force Awakens in their first pay TV window from around nine months after their release in cinemas.

Also included in the a multi-year deal are ABC Studios primetime drama and comedy series such as Scandal, Grey’s Anatomy and Scrubs, available via ABC Studios on demand, through Sky Box Sets. The deal comes two years since the two firms launched a co-branded movie channel.

Mark Endemaño, senior VP/general manager of media distribution at Disney EMEA, said this latest agreement would “bring the highest-quality, creative entertainment to audiences in the UK and Ireland in ever more flexible ways.”
