Sky appoints comedy exec

UK satcaster Sky has appointed one of its digital producers to become a development executive in its comedy division.

Morwenna Gordon previously worked in Sky’s digital entertainment department, where she headed up the digital production team and was responsible for building content strategies around Sky’s entertainment shows.

She also developed and produced content across comedy series, and led projects for factual and drama shows.

In the new role, Gordon will work on output across Sky’s suite of entertainment channels and develop Sky Comedy’s extended off-screen initiatives at events such as the Sky Cat Laughs Comedy Festival in Kilkenny, Ireland.

Before moving to Sky, Gordon spent 10 years working at the BBC in multiplatform productions.

Her promotion bolsters Sky head of comedy Lucy Lumsden’s team that also includes commissioning editors Jon Mountague and Ben Boyer and development co-ordinator Nicole Muldowney.
