ShortsTV hires programming head

Shorts International has hired former MTV Europe VP of music programming Hans Hagman as head of programming and scheduling for short-film channel ShortsTV.

Hagman’s new role sees him taking responsibility for the creative and strategic programming and scheduling of all the ShortsTV channels and media partnerships.

In addition to ShortsTV, Hagman will lead programming efforts for Shorts releases on iTunes in the US, UK and Canada; will oversee programming of Screen ShortsTV; Sony PSP Comedy in the UK; and ShortsTV on mobile in the US and Latin America.

Hagman joined MTV in 1994, holding a variety of positions over more than a decade, before leaving in 2006 to co-found music production and artist management company Crazy Dancer Productions.

He will be based in London and reports to Shorts International founder and CEO Carter Pilcher. ShortsTV is available through satcaster Sky in the UK and on Numericable in France, Belgium and Luxembourg.
