RTM finds Heartbeat in Asia

Heartbeat is distributed by Fox Networks Group Content Distribution

Malaysian pubcaster RTM has acquired the format rights to a Turkish drama that will be remade for its channels in Asia.

Heartbeat (26×60’), originally produced by Istanbul-based Film Evi for Fox Turkey, will be remade by prodco 3Line Media for Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei.

FINAS, the National Film Development Corporation of Malaysia, provided 3Line with a grant to secure funding of the format and production is underway with a local cast on board. The show is distributed by Fox Networks Group Content Distribution.

“We believe the business deal with Malaysian company 3Line Media will progressively connect Malaysia to a world looking at how Turkish TV dramas are being exponentially exported and seen by hundreds of millions of viewers around the globe,” said Datuk Fauzi Ayob, director general at FINAS.

Heartbeat, or Rüzgarın Kalbi in Turkish, tells the story of a rich and successful man who loses the love of his life just before they are due to be married.

RTM picked up its first ever Turkish drama from Eccho Rights last year.
