Retort hires production head

FremantleMedia UK scripted comedy label Retort has appointed a Vera Productions exec as its head of production.

Rebecca Parkinson was MD and head of production at UK indie Vera Productions, working on projects including Getting On for BBC4, Rory Bremner’s Coalition Report and Dave Allen: God’s Own Comedian for BBC2, and the recent Dispatches: Politicians for Sale for Channel 4 (C4).

Prior to joining Vera, Parkinson worked with Sky Entertainment Production across all genres and was head of production at TwoFour Broadcast.

In her new role, she will also support FremantleMedia’s drama label Newman Street as head of production.

In January, Retort appointed former C4 deputy commissioner Nana Hughes as its head of development.
