Queer Eye looks good to Lifetime

RDF USA and cable channel Lifetime TV have signed up Queer Eye fashion expert Carson Kressley to host their forthcoming pilot of How to Look Good Naked.

The lifestyle format, adapted from a UK series that aired on Channel 4 last year, is being adapted by UK indie Maverick Television and RDF in the US. The pilot will air on cable network Lifetime in April with an option to produce an eight-part series later in the year.

The show aims to transform people from self-loathing to self-loving without the use of plastic surgery.

Chris Coelen, CEO of RDF USA, said: "This series has been remarkably successful in the UK, and with Carson in the mix we're confident it can make a similar impact here as well."

Executive producers on the show are Alex Fraser, Greg Goldman and Riaz Patel.

The format has already been optioned by broadcasters such as VTM (Belgium), John de Mol's Dutch channel Talpa TV, Eyeworks (Germany) and Endemol for France and Italy.
