Reelz reveals Hollywood Homicide

US cablenet Reelz is linking up with a Canadian studio on a documentary crime series for the network’s fall line-up.

Hollywood Homicide Uncovered is being produced by Breakthrough Entertainment and relives the stories of murders where a celebrity is at the centre of the crime. Subjects include Robert Blake, Phil Spector, OJ Simpson, Dorothy Stratten, Tupac Shakur and Phil Hartman.

Reelz has taken broadcast and streaming rights, with the deal led by Breakthrough’s New York-based senior executive Beth Fraikorn, head of alternative content USA.

Breakthrough’s partner and president of distribution Nat Abraham said the deal would “help to forge a long lasting relationship” with the US broadcaster.
