Raise the Roof adds duo, agrees BBC deal

Scotland’s Raise the Roof Productions (RTRP) has bolstered its management team by appointing development and daytime programming execs.

Dani Carlaw

Dani Carlaw joins as development executive and has a remit to broaden the company’s factual and factual entertainment slate in a joint initiative with the BBC.

Carlaw, whose credits include BBC4 doc Afterlife: The Strange Science of Decay and Trust Me, I’m a Doctor for BBC2, will work closely with BBC commissioners Craig Hunter and David Brindley to generate ideas for the UK pubcaster, which has first-look rights to anything generated by her.

Jo Scott

Meanwhile, Jo Scott, who has worked with the prodco on numerous shows over the past decade, has been named a permanent executive producer and will work across features, daytime and current affairs.

RTRP specialises in factual entertainment and features programmes, digital content and books. Based in Glasgow, it was set up in 2010 by presenters Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer with their long-term business partners Jane Muirhead and Sarah Walmsley.
