Rod Perth, co-founder and former president of ReelzChannel, has been named the new president and CEO of Natpe.
His appointment ends the search for a successor to Rick Feldman, who stepped down at the end of his contract on April 30.
Besides co-founding US cable channel ReelzChannel, industry veteran Perth was previously president of Jim Henson Television Worldwide and president of USA Networks Entertainment.
He also ran late-night programming for CBS and served as a board member for Marvel and CNET. Most recently, he ran RHP Media Consulting, a firm specialising in strategic consulting across broadcast, cable and new media.
He will now have overall responsibility for the Miami market, held each January. Reporting to Natpe’s executive committee and board of directors, he will lead a senior management team of six and a staff of 20.
“I have grown up professionally knowing and experiencing what Natpe has to offer, and find the prospect of developing and implementing a path for its future to be an extremely exciting and challenging one,” he said.
Napte co-chairs Jordan Levin and Chris Grant made the announcement today. Bill Simon and Nicola Shocket of recruitment firm Korn/Ferry conducted the search on Natpe’s behalf. Feldman continues to consult for the organisation.
