Objective’s Sandler joins Eleven Film

Objective Productions MD Paul Sandler has been appointed executive chairman of Eleven Film, the drama indie recently backed by UK broadcaster Channel 4 (C4).

Sandler will continue to run All3Media-owned Objective with CEO Andrew Newman but will now work on a formal part-time basis at London-based Eleven Film.

His appointment follows C4’s Growth Fund investment in Eleven Film last month which saw the corporation take a minority stake in the business, co-founded by Jamie Campbell and Joel Wilson in 2006. Eleven Film initially hired Sandler to consult on the C4 investment.

The indie is currently filming a three-part drama for Sky Living called The Enfield Haunting, starring Timothy Spall (Mr Turner). The company has a number of other shows in development with Sky, the BBC and C4 and is also working on Nazareth, a new series for US network Fox that tells the story of the teenage Jesus.

Earlier this month, Objective Productions co-founder Andrew O’Connor announced he was leaving after nearly 20 years in charge. He is one among a string of senior All3Media execs to have left in the wake of Discovery Communications and Liberty Global’s joint acquisition of the business.
