Channel 4 to invest in iPhone apps UK broadcaster Channel 4 is planning to invest a six-figure sum from its 4iP fund in public service applications developed for the Apple iPhone and has also backed a website putting people in touch with politicians.C4, which unveiled its £50m (US$72.8m) 4iP fund a year ago, is offering to contribute up to £30,000 each to software developers with ideas for apps specifically designed for the latest 3.0 iPhone update. In total, it will invest up to £100,000 in games that in some way meet its public service remit. Separately, 4iP, together with media development agency Screen West Midlands, has put money into Yoosk, a website that allows the public to put questions directly to politicians.
