KidsCo launches VoD in Asia KidsCo, the joint-venture children's channel owned by NBC Universal, DIC Entertainment and Corus Entertainment, is launching a video-on-demand service in South Korea. The VoD service is a first for the channel and is the result of an agreement between KidsCo and South Korean operator HanaTV, one of the leading IPTV companies in the territory. The agreement makes KidsCo programming available on-demand in the region, including Babar, Madeline, Sonic The Hedgehog, Cyberchase, Franklin and Rolie Polie Olie. KidsCo’s presence in South Korea follows its strategic expansion, with the channel now broadcasting in Romania, the Middle East, Hungary, Russia, Turkey, Poland, Singapore, the Philippines and territories across sub-Saharan Africa. KidsCo MD Paul Robinson said: "KidsCo is committed to rapidly expanding across international television markets. Our relationship with HanaTV is a milestone because it is KidsCo’s first VoD service and is an example of how children are trailblazing consumers and key drivers of new technology services.” HanaTV business unit head Daniel Kim added: “We believe that the collaboration with KidsCo will be instrumental in strengthening our position as the number one IPTV service in the region.” Adam Benzine 14 Apr 2008 © C21 Media 2008 C21 Home | C21 Kids Home | Printer Friendly | Email a Friend |
