Sky1 fires starting gun for sports panel show UK satellite channel Sky1 has signed comedian James Corden, footballer Jamie Redknapp and cricket hero Stuart Broad to a new sporting panel show. CPL Productions will produce A League of Their Own (working title), with Corden as referee and Broad and Redknapp acting as team captains. The comedy show rests on the premise that sporting knowledge is all about lists. Contestants have to put soccer player David James's five worst haircuts in chronological order, or say which football team has had the most sex scandals this season. It will also feature physical challenges and celebrity guest cameos.Duncan Gray, commissioning editor for entertainment at Sky1 HD and Sky1, 2 and 3, said: "We're really excited to have James Corden, Jamie Redknapp and Stuart Broad bringing their sporting and comedic prowess to such a great production." Danielle Lux and Murray Boland will executive produce the pilot for CPL Productions. Gray will exec produced for Sky1 with production manager James Townley. The show will air on Sky1 HD in late 2009.The commission is one of two sports panel show pilots from Sky1. It has also greenlit It's Going To Penalties, from Peep Show producer Objective Productions and North One Television.
