Lee to develop Hurricane Katrina series pilot NEWS BRIEF: Filmmaker Spike Lee (Malcolm X, 25th Hour) is to follow his documentary on Hurricane Katrina with a scripted drama for NBC set in New Orleans titled NoLa, after the local slang for The Big Easy. The project is a multicultural ensemble piece exploring the post-Katrina lives of New Orleans residents from different social and economic backgrounds, and will be filmed on location in New Orleans, according to US reports. Lee's new project follows his previous HBO documentary, When The Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts, and will be both exec produced and directed by Lee if NBC decides to turn the script into a pilot. 11 Sep 2006 © C21 Media 2006 |
