Celebs sign up for BBC hairdressing boot camp Celebrities will meet with scissors at the ready for a new celebrity reality series being produced by the BBC, which finishes with a grand finale on the UK broadcaster's annual Children In Need night. ![]() The series, which will run for the two week lead-up to the BBC's Children In Need event, will see celebs attend a hairdressing academy, run by well-known UK stylists, practising throughout on willing members of the public and any passing BBC personalities. And for the first time in Children In Need night's history, the hair, make-up and wardrobe department during the charity fundraiser will also be in the hands of the motley crew of trainee celebs. TV presenter Alex Zane will present the show from the Scissorhands Academy, located at the heart of BBC Television Centre, which has a line-up that includes 80s pop icon Steve Strange; winner of The Apprentice UK Michelle Dewbury; Radio 1 DJ, Scott Mills; actress and Dynasty star Emma Samms; Right Said Fred frontman Richard Fairbrass; TV presenter Sarah Cawood; singer Rowetta (Happy Mondays, The X-Factor); actor and presenter Ortis Deeley (Kidulthood, Live and Kicking); and TV personality Darren Day. Viewers can keep up to date with Celebrity Scissorhands action with hour-long primetime shows and streaming on BBC3, catch-up programmes on BBC1 with red-button access, as well as on Keep Your Hair On – a brand new children's quiz series for the CBBC Channel, and on the Celebrity Scissorhands website, which will provide video clips and tips from the academy.
