New preschooler from Funbag

Canadian animation studio Funbag is in production on a new children's animated series for Corus' YTV Treehouse channel and a second season of Toad Patrol for Teletoon.

The Mole Sisters (pictured) is based on the children's books by Rosyln Schwartz and is being created in a Beatrix Potter-style animation series. A 78×4' series is in production with Screentiger.

The series follows two mole on their gentle adventures as they explore their environment, teaching preschoolers to respect the natural world around them. The first episodes of The Mole Sisters are to be delivered to Corus' YTV Treehouse next month.

Meanwhile, Teletoon has commissioned a new series of Toad Patrol, a Toadbag Production in association with Edward Sarson Productions. The preschool series (13×30') is about eight toadlets who miss the great migration and set out alone on a perilous journey through the treacherous forest to reach the safety of Toad Hollow. It has also sold to Disney in the US.

Funbag, a cel/Flash animation company, is also working on King with Decode. The toon has already sold to public broadcaster ABC and is to air on the Family Channel in Canada next year.
