Netflix feels second Sense8 run

Netflix has ordered a second season of Andy and Lana Wachowski’s sci-fi drama Sense8.

The series, The Matrix duo’s first foray into episodic drama, together with writer and exec producer J Michael Straczynski (Babylon 5), comes from Georgeville Television (Crossbones) in association with Studio JMS.

Sense8 – about eight strangers from different countries who find themselves psychically connected by a woman’s death and then united in their bid to avoid capture by a stranger who wants their powers – had its first 12×60’ season debut on Netflix in June.

Marc Rosen, head of Georgeville co-parent Reliance Entertainment, exec produced the first run with Leon Clarance and Deepak Nayar of Motion Picture Capital.
