NBCU names operations boss

NBCUniversal (NBCU) has promoted one of its studios executives to become senior VP of operations and technology for the company’s Hispanic Enterprises & Content division.

Jeff Mayzurk will be based in Miami and is responsible for developing the unit’s technology strategy across all areas of its business, including Telemundo Network, Telemundo Studios, Telemundo International and cable net Mun2. His remit also includes overseeing the operations, technology and facilities teams.

Mayzurk was most recently senior VP of studio operations at NBC’s operations and technical services arm, responsible for technology strategy. He also worked as general manager for the firm’s west coast TV operations in California.

Before arriving at NBCU, Mayzurk was chief technology officer for Comcast Entertainment Group and has also held positions at E! Entertainment Television, CNET and Sierra Entertainment.

Last week, NBCU appointed a senior VP of planning and strategy for NBCU’s Hispanic Enterprises & Content division to work across its output.
