NBCU launches Asian Telemundo block

NBCUniversal (NBCU) International Television is launching a Telemundo branded programming block on its female-skewing Asian channel Diva.

The block will take titles from the NBCU-owned Spanish language US Hispanic channel and air them on Diva starting on August 4.

Telenovelas Aurora and Cruel Love will kick off the two-hour Diva Presents Telemundo block, which will air on weekdays from 16.15.

The two shows will be dubbed into English with local language subtitles and get their first runs in territories including Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

The move comes a year after NBCU International Television started airing Telemundo in Africa – the first time the channel had launched outside the Americas.
