NBCU bolsters Hispanic operation

NBCUniversal (NBCU) has promoted one of its senior advertising and strategy executives to work across the company’s Hispanic content.

Meara Abramson Valenzuela has been named senior VP of planning and strategy for NBCU’s Hispanic enterprises and content division, and will be based in New York.

Valenzuela will lead analysis, planning and execution of key projects across the company’s Telemundo Network, as well as its studios, digital and channels interests, and its international business.

She will also review business opportunities and report to Marlene Sanchez Dooner, exec VP of Hispanic enterprises and content.

Valenzuela was most recently VP of advertising sales planning, where she oversaw deals for Telemundo and mun2 and helped to develop sales strategies and revenue opportunities.

She joined NBCU in 2004 as part of the ad sales finance and pricing group supporting NBC News, and before that worked for GE Capital.
