MTV hooks Catfish series

MTV in the US is turning its documentary film Catfish into a 12-part television series.

The acclaimed feature follows filmmakers Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost as they document Ariel’s brother Yaniv’s online relationship with a mystery girl.

Now Yaniv Schulman is onboard a 12×60′ factual series for the Viacom-owned cable channel that will look at couples who have fallen in love online but never met face to face.

An airdate for Catfish: The TV Show, produced by Yaniv Schulman and Max Joseph, has not yet been set.
