MondoTV says Bienvenida to live-action first

Heidi Bienvenida a Casa is a Spanish-language remake of the children’s novel

Italian-based animation producer and distributor MondoTV’s first ever live-action production has launched on channels in Russia and Israel.

Produced by Mondo TV Iberoamerica along with Alianzas Producciones, Heidi Bienvenida a Casa (60×45’) is the Spanish-language remake of Johanna Spyri’s classic children’s novel.

It debuted on Israel’s Yes kidZ at the beginning of September, having aired for the first time on Russia’s free-to-air youth-focused net CTC Love in August.

Additionally, Mondo TV Iberoamerica has licensed the show to Russian operator JSC First HDTV. The two-year agreement grants non-exclusive rights for transmission by pay TV, via satellite and cable.

Since its emergence on Nickelodeon, the Argentinian comedy drama has spread all over Latin America, airing on TV Azteca’s A+ Mexico channel.

The show will roll out on free-to-air broadcasters in Bolivia, Costa Rica, El Salvador and Panama before the end of 2017, while launches in numerous other territories will follow in January 2018. A second season of the show, titled Heidi Bienvenida al Show, is in production and a third is in development.

Following the Russian and Israeli deals, Mondo TV is looking to establish licensing partnerships for the property throughout EMEA.
