Life on Duty heads to Brazil, Argentina

Life on Duty follows emergency services workers

A Madrid-based production outfit has become the latest to pick up rights to an Israeli factual entertainment format looking at the work of emergency services.

Life on Duty, created and distributed by Israel’s Gil Formats, follows the work of members of the emergency services and explores their often neglected personal lives.

Local versions for Latin America are now in the works with Spanish prodco Boxfish TV, which has acquired rights to the show in Brazil and Argentina.

The pick-up follows the format’s recent deal in the US with Ben Silverman and Howard T Owens’ Propagate Content, and the recommissioning of the format for a second season in Spain by Mediaset’s Cuatro, produced by Boxfish.

Bristow Global Media in Canada and Bulldog TV in Italy are among those to have also previously acquired the format. Gil Formats is the sister company of Gil Productions, which was established 25 years ago by CEO Assaf Gil.
