Job steps down in A+E UK shake-up

A+E Networks UK is rejigging its senior programming team, closing three director of programming positions in a move that will see History’s Rachel Job leave after 10 years.

The broadcaster has created two new director roles overseeing editorial for its channel brands.

Koulla Anastasi, previously director of programming for Lifetime and Crime & Investigation, is stepping up to director for the two channels, while Elena Anniballi is doing likewise for Blaze.

Job, who previously oversaw original commissioning for History, has taken voluntary redundancy and will leave at the end of the month. In an email to colleagues Job said she is “very excited about the fantastic opportunity now afforded to me.”

Dan Korn, the former head of Discovery Channel in the UK who joined A+E as VP of programming last October, will combine editorial leadership for History and H2 with his existing role.

Anastasi and Anniballi will continue to report to Korn in his capacity as VP of programming.

The announcements were made to staff by Heather Jones, general manager of A+E Networks UK, and news of Job’s departure was first reported by UK trade magazine Broadcast.
