Hulu takes in truTV’s Billy

Billy on the Street is fronted by Billy Eichner

US streamer Hulu has agreed an SVoD deal for TruTV show Billy on the Street.

The agreement will see Hulu pick up rights to all five seasons of the sketch comedy, which stars Billy Eichner.

It will debut on Hulu this weekend and marks the first series from Turner-owned TruTV that has been licensed to the platform.

All 42 episodes from the first four seasons of the show, from Funny Or Die, will be available to stream on Hulu and the fifth run will debut next year following its TruTV premiere.

Chris Linn, president of TruTV, said the deal “gives us a great opportunity to both super-serve those existing fans and also introduce the show and our network to new audiences.”

Billy on the Street is a variety sketch series that follows comedian Eichner, star of Hulu original Difficult People, as he hits the streets of New York City to test out jokes on unsuspecting passers-by.
