Hulu ignites Little Fires Everywhere

US streamer Hulu has picked up the rights to develop Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington’s drama Little Fires Everywhere as a Hulu Originals series.

The series, adapted from Celeste Ng’s 2017 bestselling novel, will be produced by Witherspoon’s outfit Hello Sunshine and Washington’s Simpson Street, alongside ABC Signature Studios.

Witherspoon and Washington will exec produce and star while Liz Tigelaar (Life Unexpected) will serve as showrunner and exec producer. Hello Sunshine’s Lauren Neustadter will also exec produce, with Pilar Savone overseeing the project for Simpson Street.

The series follows a model family and their interactions with a mysterious mother and daughter who disrupt their lives.

Witherspoon first discovered Ng’s work prior to its publication and took it to Washington before the pair approached Tigelaar to adapt. ABC Signature was then brought onboard.
