Hulu gets Hitman in sights

The Hitman video franchise has already spawned movies including Hitman: Agent 47

US streamer Hulu is partnering with Fox 21 on a TV show based on IO Interactive’s video game franchise Hitman.

The show’s pilot is being written by creator and scribe of the John Wick action movies Derek Kolstad, who is also attached as exec producer on the TV series.

Adrian Askarieh and Chuck Gordon are also attached to exec produce, according to Deadline which broke the story. Bert Salke, Jane Francis, Gloria Fan and Kira Innes will oversee the show at Fox 21 with Jordan Helman at Hulu.

Hitman has sold more than 25 million copies since its launch in 2000 and spawned numerous spin-off games, as well as movies Hitman, and Hitman: Agent 46.

Hulu has been increasing its originals output recently, ordering a second season of The Handmaid’s Tale, and expanding its live TV streaming service in the US. It also revealed plans to double its investment in originals and exclusively licensed content.
