Hooq hires Eros exec as India MD

Pan-Asian SVoD provider Hooq has appointed Zulfiqar Khan as its new MD for India to replace the outgoing Salil Kapoor.

Khan brings almost two decades of experience across sales, business development, revenue and content creation and has worked for companies including Star India and Eros Now.

For the past three years he has been at OTT platform Eros Now, where he was responsible for strategic planning, growth initiatives, business partnerships and original content.

There he managed an overall team of 50, spanning programming, marketing, monetisation, strategy, alliance and partnerships.

Last week, Hooq acquired detective show Carter, which was originally commissioned by Sony Pictures Television Networks for its international channels including AXN and is produced by Canuck prodco Amaze Film + Television.
