History Canada goes to Hell

History in Canada has greenlit a six-part show following two adventurers as they re-enact a series of real-life expeditions at locations around the world.

Brett & Cliff Go to Hell (6×60′) is being produced by Proper Television for Shaw Media-owned History, with Guy O’Sullivan and Allison Grace attached as exec producers.

Production has started on Roatan Island, Honduras, with the show following Brett Rogers and Cliff Quinn as they re-live historical worst-case scenarios in locations including Arizona, Manitoba and Newfoundland.

The six episodes are being shot over six months, with each expedition being shot over seven days. The first scenario sees the duo travel back in time to 1723 on the run from pirates, dressed in period clothing and using tools from the time.

Canadian prodco Proper is also creating a range of digital content for the network’s website with extended scenes, survival how-to’s and video diaries.
